It seems apparent that he hasn't solved his sex problem really well, although it was fine for the time that Soraya was "working" for him. I think the reason that it sex has become a problem for David (No, Im not talking about myself in the 3rd person) is that he wants to satisfy his libido and at the same time not get attached to anyone. David recognizes that they come along hand in hand and starts to find it a nuisance to have to work so hard for it. He claimed he did not have problems getting sex when he wanted it before, but now it is much harder because he isn't as attractive.
These are pictures of me reading in...
The laundry, waiting for the washing machine to finish its cycle.
The Kitchen, getting fat on a jam-topped carb.
Enough read, Im off the gym.

i agree with the fact that he finds it hard to get to what he wants because he lost his good looks and charm and became outdated.
about the father figure comment:
he lets her sleep in his daughters bed, and when she's crying he feels responsible for her and wants to take care of her. He still wants her sexually of course, but because of the age difference and his attachement to her, the relation seems somewhat "fatherly"....
i love the pics =D
you're right about him wanting to satisfy his libido, but although it doesnt seem that he wants a serious relationship, i think he is subconsciously looking for one, either a lover-to-lover one or father-to-son one. He seems to be disillusioned by his own lies to himself...anyway i kindof find this book boring, but this is IB so...meh :P
nice pics of you reading, your absorption of all that knowledge shall be forever etched into the jagged wall of wisdom that is my mind...
ooooooh TOK..... :D
I agree with Aya, but I don't think that David Lurie is that kind-hearted. I think he's only capable of bouts of goodness, but deep down he's very cold.
